Chinchero: Incan weaving demonstration - alpaca wool textiles

Chinchero is a small village, less than an hour from Cusco, Peru. We arrived at a textile center where we got close to the alpacas and the native Incan women gave a weaving demonstration. We saw the wool from the alpaca be removed, cleaned, made into yarn, dyed and made into beautiful textiles. The women were dressed in traditional clothing.
