"The Soul of Ambition" Danielle LaPorte at Wanderlust's Speakeasy

"My request and prayer used to always be 'make me useful,' which presupposes I'm not already useful. I'd pray and pray, 'make me useful.' But when I got clear, my vibration completely changed. I thought 'I want to be useful.' The energy changes from asking for something bigger that's out of me to me and regonizing my own desire." "When I could switch from prayer to just what I want, my intention, it got really clear that my desire is my prayer. I'll say it again: your desire is your prayer. Your prayer becomes a commitment to fully wanting what you want and giving yourself permission to desire what you desire." "Excellence is about being a little unreasonable, if you're going to create, you have to be a little bit crazy. You have to have the the courage to make the 11th hour changes -- to call the wedding off, to get up on the stage when you weren't expecting to -- [to make those decisions] is the difference between "meh" and totally awesome. If you can park your ego and your fear of looking like a flake or a prima donna, that's where the sweetness is," she explains. "9 out of 10 people will say they want to feel successful. That's not enough, get underneath that success. What is success for you? Too many people have ought into other people's definition of success. Getting clear in your feeling of desire increases the liklihood of getting what you want."
