A common occurrence for those processing point clouds, especially of buildings, is aligning data from different acquisitions that describe specific parts of a scene. A typical case is merging a point cloud, created using laser scans, of the interior of a building with a point cloud of the roof, created using a drone. I'll show you how to do this in the CloudCompare software, using the "alignment" tool, which inevitably requires sufficient overlap between the data you're processing.
