May 2025, St. Petersburg. After a trial run of disassembling the fuel pump at the dacha, I decided that I needed to replace not only the fuel filter, but the fuel pump itself. I selected and ordered a new fuel pump from Ozon. When I received it, I borrowed a heat gun from Grigory and decided to try fitting the hoses to the fuel filter at work. As a result, I damaged one hose because I overheated it and couldn't hold it with my bare hands while fitting it to the fuel filter hose. So my next step was to make a special hose holder. I made it from pieces of plywood, two bolts, and nuts. This will help hold the hose securely, preventing it from bending while fitting it to the nipple. Using my holder, I fitted the three ends of the hoses. Now only one end remains, which needs to be fitted to the part of the fuel pump that was currently in the car. To remove the fuel pump from the car, I had to make new tools: a wrench and a hook, because I left the ones I'd made before at the dacha. Using the new wrench and hook, I removed the pump and brought it back to the apartment where I was renovating. Then I discovered I'd bought the wrong fuel pump. They had different connectors for connecting the power supply. But since I'd already installed all the hoses and removed the fuel pump from the car, I decided to disassemble the connector from the old fuel pump and simply attach the terminals to the new fuel pump, thus completing the job completely. Later, I discovered my mistake: I needed to buy a different fuel pump model, not the one I'd bought. Although I should have been more careful, the ozone search engine misled me by suggesting this particular model. In any case, I replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter and reinstalled it in the car. The result was good, but the jerking problem persisted, so I decided to continue the work and contacted some friends to have several repairs done at once: replacing the front hub, replacing the gas cap, which had rusted and started leaking, and replacing the spark plugs. After replacing the spark plugs, the engine returned to normal operation, the dips disappeared, and the car accelerated smoothly. After replacing the right front hub, I discovered that the left one was also making noise, meaning it needed to be replaced (although I hadn't heard any noise from the left hub before). So I immediately ordered a new hub, but decided to try replacing it myself when I got to the dacha. We'll do that in the next video about the car.
