Sermon On The Mount | Pt. 5 - The Heart of Desire | Matthew 5:27-32

In Matthew 5:27–32, Jesus shows that sexual sin is not only about outward actions but about the desires and condition of the heart, revealing that He cares deeply about bringing us into true freedom rather than shame. Lust is destructive because it seeks the pleasure and intimacy of sex without the covenant, love, and self-giving it was designed for, while God created sex as a beautiful expression of trust, vulnerability, and faithfulness within marriage. Jesus calls us to take sin seriously by removing what leads us away from Him, and whether we are struggling with lust, sexual brokenness, or marriage difficulties, our hope is found in running to Jesus who alone satisfies our deepest desire to be fully known and loved.
