Axiolateral and Axiolateral Oblique Mandible Radiographic Positioning Demonstration
Axiolateral Mandible: Place AML parallel with the floor with COMBINATION of head tilt + tube angle to equal 25 degrees entering the gonion (side up). 8 x 10 field collimated to the necessary anatomy. This will demonstrate the ramus of the mandible. For Axiolateral Oblique views, simply rotate the head: 20-25 degrees for a general survey, 30 degrees to demonstrate the body of the mandible, or 45 degrees to demonstrate the mentum.
