Note from ABRSM Composed as a typical classical piece, this bagatelle features a recurrent 4-bar melody consisting of detached chords followed by another 4 bars of moving quavers that lead to an imperfect cadence at bar 9. The structure is repeated, as an answering phrase that ends with a perfect cadence at bar 17. A new section in E flat major takes off at bar 18 till 39 before the original theme returns at bars 40-55. The music develops further, with increased intensity from bars 56-67. The opening 4 bars are sounded once again before the piece closes off quietly with long drawn chords.
