Ты тоже плод или просто лист? Новый год деревьев. р. Дов Бер Байтман. Ту би Шват
Tu B'Shvat is the New Year of the Trees, but what does it have to do with us? Why does the Torah compare humans to trees? What is the significance of the seven fruits for which the Land of Israel is renowned? In this lesson, we will explore the holiday's deep meaning, linked to spiritual growth, blessing, and continuity. We will delve into the symbolism, uncover secrets, and explore how this day can change us. ------------------------------------ A brief overview of Tu B'Shvat: The 15th of the Hebrew month of Shevat (in 2026, it falls on the evening of February 1st) is celebrated as the "New Year of the Trees." Exactly the middle of the month, the full moon, by this time of year, the days lengthen by almost two hours. This is the time when the earliest blooming trees in the Land of Israel awaken from their winter slumber and begin a new fruiting cycle. Formally, the New Year of the Trees is related to the various types of tithes that were to be set aside from the harvest grown in the Holy Land. These tithes varied in different years of the seven-year Shmita cycle. The starting point, from which the fruit set was considered part of the following year's harvest, was Tu Bishvat. This holiday has been celebrated since time immemorial. Although there are no written Torah provisions for it, it is mentioned in the Mishnah. On this day, it is customary to eat fruit, especially grapes, figs, pomegranates, olives, and dates—those fruits with which the Torah glorifies Israel—"the land of wheat and barley, and grapevines, and fig trees, and pomegranate trees, olive trees, and date honey." About four centuries ago, the Kabbalists of Safed began a tradition of celebrating the New Year of the Trees with a festive Seder, similar to the Passover Seder: drinking the traditional four cups of wine, mixing red and white in varying proportions, eating the fruits for which Israel is famous in a specific order, reading Torah verses mentioning these plants, excerpts from the Talmud, and, of course, the Zohar. https://ru.chabad.org/library/article... #new_year_of_trees ---------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe to the Official Channel of Rabbi Dov Ber Beitman! ---------------------------------------------------------- Tanya - • Тания, часть 1-я, Ликутей Амарим (Книга ср... ---------------------------------------------------------- We've launched a Telegram channel! 📲 https://t.me/Baitman_official Join us, it will help you stay in touch, find out the schedule of offline lessons, excursions, and events - and sometimes we publish exclusive material!
