I brought this Black And Decker 1970s Finishing Sander 5550-02/01 off ebay knowing it was broken to see if i could bring it back to life. I Discovered 2 faults brushes weren't seated right and the shaft going to the sanding pad wasnt engaged properly. 00:20 to 3:29 Current State 3:29 to 18:59 Getting the motor to work 18:59 to 21:11 Reassemble and discover a second fault 21:11 to 25:37 Second fault diagnosed and repair 25:37 to 26:54 Reassemble and plug in test Disclaimer im not any kind of service engineer im solely doing this for hobby purposes and to help others with similar issues.
