This Laptop Wouldn’t Boot… Until I Did This | The FIXIT Shed

This Dell Inspiron N5110 had been unplugged for about a month and would no longer boot. I suspected the CMOS battery, replaced it — and still nothing. I dug in a little further, removed the SSD, tested it externally (it was fine), reinstalled it, and suddenly the laptop booted normally. In this video I walk through the troubleshooting process and show how something as simple as reseating a drive can bring an older laptop back to life. If you’ve got an older laptop that won’t boot after sitting unused, this is a quick, low-cost thing to try before assuming the motherboard is bad. _____________________________________________ Affiliate Links --- As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
