Operation Bagration - Breaking the Back of the Wehrmacht

In June 1944, the Red Army would launch a carefully planned and prepared military offensive through Nazi-occupied Belarus. Through highly effective deception, the Soviets were able to completely annihilate the Wehrmacht's Army Group Center, wiping out most of its divisions. As a result, the Nazi war machine was effectively broken in the East, and the Germans could no longer mount a comprehensive defense against future Soviet offensives.
