This time, we'll introduce the mountain range known as Musasabi Road, a mountain range located in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture. It's so-called because tracing the path you walk along it resembles a flying squirrel soaring through the sky. The five main mountains are Myojozan, Naganobezan, Shirokanezan, Takaneyama, and Mukaimino. While the elevation difference isn't that great when you reach all of the peaks, the mountain trails are quite rugged, making it the perfect course for mountain training! However, with the abundance of hiking trails typical of low mountains, there are many branching paths and side trails, so it's easy to get lost if you don't keep track of your current location. Beginners and those less confident in their stamina might want to consider starting from Ichinose Waterfront Park and taking a circuit around Mt. Myojozan and Naganobezan, or a round-trip course between Mt. Mukaimino and Shirokanezan. The ability to choose a variety of trails to suit your physical fitness is perhaps one of the attractions of this mountain range. *If you are using a car, it is convenient to start from Ichinose Water Park, but if you are using public transport, it is better to either walk the 40-minute paved road to Ichinose Water Park, or take the round trip course from near the Aomine Danchi bus stop to Mt. Myojo, Mt. Naganobe and Mt. Shirokane!
