A sigh releases between your lips, and you shut off the TV, place the remote down on the small table next to where you sit, a startling sound in the otherwise silence of the house. The ticking of time continues as you contemplate the bed, summoning you from a dark room. A floss, and brush of the teeth, a splash of water and soap to your face, and to bed with you. Newly washed sheets and a nice plush blanket greet you warmly as you snuggle in, the soft glow of your phone cooling your face in the darkness around you. It’s not long before your eyes start to drift shut, your phone gently rests on your chest as you are lured into slumber. The night takes over before you can realize you’ve succumbed. Inside that mind of yours you hear a voice. Tilting your head, it’s soft, merely a whisper. Your mind drifts toward the voice, and you can hear a woman speaking. Indistinguishable, you puzzle over the words that are carrying so softly in your dream state, and yet feel so very real. Slowly, you find yourself on strange terrain. Beautiful, tall mountains in a dreamy dark and starry world full of deep purples and blues. The steps you take are strange. It is as if you are walking through a type of pudding, yet your path appears clear beneath you. How odd this sensation. Even more odd, is the realization you are perhaps in a dream. Is this possible? Are you in a lucid dream? “But how does one test a lucid dream?” You think and startle at the words you think come to you in the voice of the woman you are hearing. Perhaps you hold up a hand. “Look to the left” you think, and you do just that. And then to the right. For all intents and purposes, it seems you have control here. You keep walking toward where you perceive the voice. A beautiful melodic voice. It’s not murmuring…she’s singing now. To be continued... ☕😘💖
