Joshua - Part 12: Choose This Day
As we conclude our Joshua: Almost Home series, we arrive at Joshua’s final words to God’s people. This is a powerful call to remember, respond, and choose. After years of witnessing God’s faithfulness, provision, protection, and victory, Joshua gathers Israel and asks the defining question: “Whom will you serve?” It’s not merely a question for ancient Israel. It’s the same question every believer must answer today. Joshua reminds the people that everything they have is because of God’s grace. He fought their battles. He kept His promises. He brought them home. But the gospel always demands a response. This closing message challenges us to examine our own hearts. What competes for our worship? Comfort? Success? Security? Control? Like Israel, we cannot remain neutral. We were made to worship. The good news is that while faithfulness is too heavy a burden to carry in our own strength, God has given us His Spirit to empower us to follow Him. “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” The question is: What will your response be?
