However, Mayor Oh's attempts to transplant famous buildings from London and New York to the Han River have repeatedly sparked controversy. Water quality has deteriorated, and citizens cannot enjoy the river as it should be. Choi Seung-ho, director of the film "Trace," points out that Seoul's failure stems from a failure to consider the Han River's original form. In the 1980s, obsessed with the "fantasy of advanced nations," they built dams and installed concrete structures along the riverside. To accommodate cruise ships, the river has been reduced to a mere lake.
