Abandoned Hand Plane Restoration

Hello folks! Today I want to show you my new restoration project. This old rusty hand plane has an interesting story. The seller found this plane in an abandoned chicken coop. I can say that this restoration was one of the most time-consuming. Restoration process: Initially, I disassembled the entire plane in detail. All the parts I left in the rust removal fluid. Then I washed everything in water with cleaning agent and oiled it. Then I started polishing the parts via iron brush. The most difficult thing was to restore the sole of the plane. It took 2 days. I sharpened the plane knife again. The wooden handles were sanded, oiled, and varnished. Part of the broken rear handle was repaired with sawdust and glue. There was a lot of work behind the scenes. I really hope, you enjoy my work.
