No specific scale was used for this model. This desktop model demonstrates the mechanical principal of steam engine locomotives that utilize the Walschaerts valve gear for operating the inlet and exhaust valves to provide forward and reverse locomotion. There are three methods to operate the model: Manual control by sliding on the keyed rotation handle to the primary axle. Motorized control by removing the handle and fitting a drill or motor to the primary axle. Pneumatic control by providing a pressurized air source to the top of the cylinder.
