That made a huge difference in my treatment and recovery. Also, for those asking — yes, I waited for my piercing to heal before surgery. My current doctor was fully aware of it and advised me to wait, as a fresh piercing is essentially a wound and could increase the risk of infection. We made that decision carefully and medically.
