At 612 meters above sea level, it is located almost on the watershed between the coastal slopes and the Fontanabuona Valley. The sanctuary attracts numerous worshippers and visitors, and is a popular destination for hikers. Along the avenue lined with holm oaks, the monumental black-and-white striped neo-Gothic façade is striking.
