While installing without virtual machines is better, it's very useful to install one or more Linux distros in a virtual machine to see if they're fully compatible with your hardware and, of course, if that distro is really right for you. I already know which distro I'll install; The choice wasn't easy; I was torn between: Linux Mint 22.3 Cinnamon ZorinOS 18 UfficioZero Anna (based on Mint Cinnamon) I had some trouble installing ZorinOS 18 in a virtual machine, and I still haven't figured out why.
