ALASKA Off Grid Cabin Snow Arrives
ALASKA Off-Grid Cabin Winter Prep (Snow Tires, Water & Cabin Upgrades) Winter has arrived in Alaska...and it's not waiting for anyone. With snow covering the roads and steep hills turning slick, Josh starts the day the only way that makes sense—swapping the truck over to snow tires before the conditions get any worse. The drive home is a reminder of how quickly things can change this time of year. Snow-covered roads. Vehicles in the ditch. Emergency responders on the move. And winter is only getting started. Back at the cabin, the work continues. With freezing temperatures settling in, there's still a long list of projects to finish before everything locks up for the season. A drying rack goes in above the wood stove to make better use of the heat and create a place to dry gloves, hats, and gear after long days outside. Before moving on to winter preparations, Josh puts the finishing touches on the new front steps, driving massive spikes into the logs to secure everything in place and complete the cabin's first major upgrade. Then it's time to haul water. Jug after jug is filled from the rainwater tank carried into the cabin before it freezes—one of those simple jobs that becomes a whole lot more important once winter arrives. No shortcuts. No running water. Just preparing an off-grid cabin for another Alaska winter. If you're into Alaska off-grid living, winter preparedness, cabin upgrades, cabin building, hauling water, and the reality of living in a remote cold-weather environment, this one's for you. 🎥 SUBSCRIBE to North of Normal for more real, unfiltered Alaska life. / @lifenorthofnormal Timestamps: 0:00 – Winter arrives in Alaska 0 – Installing snow tires 0 – Driving snowy Alaska roads 0 – Vehicles and emergency responders 0 – Arriving at the cabin 0 – Finishing the new front steps 0 – Driving massive spikes into the logs 0 – Installing a drying rack above the stove 0 – Hauling water before it freezes 0 – Winter prep continues #DIY #OffGridLiving #CabinLife Welcome to North of Normal.
