Operation Follow Through Shuts Down O'ahu's Illegal Game Rooms - Permanently!

Councilmember Augie Tulba and his director of Communications, Malia Zimmerman, are diving into Operation Follow Through, a groundbreaking initiative by the Honolulu Police Department, which aims to shut down illegal game rooms - permanently. This program holds property owners accountable for criminal activity on their property. Since 2023, the operation has had a 100% success rate when it comes to closures. The initiative, conceived by Acting Sergeant Alexander Watson “Alika” Watson, who is a part of the Honolulu Police Department District 5 Crime Reduction Unit, and implemented in collaboration with the Department of Planning and Permitting and Honolulu Fire Department among other agencies. Acting Sgt. Watson leads Operation Follow Through (OFT), to address sources of major community complaints and crime. With collaboration from various agencies, the operation will expand from District 5 to include all districts islandwide.
