Is the Tamiya Zero Worth the Extra Cost? | 1/72 Scale Mitsubishi A6M3 'Hamp' Inbox Review
Welcome to another inbox review — this time taking a look at the Tamiya 1/72 scale A6M3 Model 32 “Hamp” Zero! The unusual clipped-wing A6M3 Model 32 is one of the more distinctive Zero variants and was famously operated by the Tainan Kokutai, including during the fighting over Milne Bay against the RAAF. As I continue gathering kits and references for my upcoming Milne Bay stop-motion project, this became one of the most important Zero kits I picked up — especially since the kit includes markings for aircraft involved in that campaign. But there is one big question: for a 1/72 scale kit that often costs noticeably more than many competing Zeros… is the Tamiya Hamp actually worth the price? In this video, I cover: 🔹 Box art and presentation 🔹A brief history of the clipped wing Zeros development 🔹 Instructions and assembly guide 🔹 Plastic parts and surface detail 🔹 Cockpit and engineering quality 🔹 Decals and Tainan Kokutai markings 🔹 Value for money and overall impressions 👉 What’s your favourite Zero variant? 👉 Is Tamiya worth the extra money?
