Seeing Jesus // Road to Emmaus: Luke 24:13–35 // Watermark Community Church
Two disciples walked seven miles with the risen Jesus and didn’t recognize him. They were near him, but blind to who he was. In Luke 24, we’re reminded that it’s possible to be around Jesus without truly seeing him. But when the Spirit opens our eyes through the Word, we see him clearly, and seeing Jesus always leads to worship. // TAKEAWAYS It’s possible to be with Jesus and not see Jesus. It takes a work of God to see Jesus. The Word of God exists for us to see Jesus. You will know when you have seen Jesus. // APPLICATION QUESTIONS Where in your life are you walking with Jesus, but not really seeing him? What keeps you from recognizing Jesus’ presence in your everyday routines? How have you recently experienced the Holy Spirit giving you new clarity or conviction? Who around you needs your prayers that God would open their eyes to see him?
