This came after he was asked whether he would make any distinctions based on socioeconomic status, a detail that the Executive Branch has not yet addressed. "I agree that senior citizens shouldn't be charged, but I do say that the Senate should introduce the appropriate amendment so that those who can afford to pay, pay," Luksic responded. “Now, we have to be mindful of the financial aspect, because in Huechuraba, for example, which in this case affects me by 1.2 billion pesos, there are houses that were worth 5,000 UF and today are worth 12,000 UF, and that doesn't mean that person can pay if it's considered financially. So we also have to be careful in that discussion,” he added regarding this topic.
