आजकल सड़कों और शहरों के नाम ये कहकर बदले जा रहे हैं कि वे बाहर से आए शासकों या व्यक्तियों के नाम पर हैं। लेकिन वे उस नाम या पहचान को नहीं बदलते जो दरअसल विदेशियों द्वारा ही दी गई और वह उनकी पहचान के तौर पर दुनिया भर में स्थापित हो चुकी है। विदेशियों द्वारा दी गई ये पहचान है हिंदू शब्द। हिंदू शब्द भारत में या किसी भारतीय भाषा से पैदा नहीं हुआ है। सवाल उठता है कि ये हिंदू शब्द कैसे आया, कहाँ से आया? कैसे एक पूरी आबादी की पहचान से किस तरह से ऐसे जुड़ गया कि अब उसे अलगाना ही असंभव हो गया है? जाने माने सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता एवं इतिहास के जानकार प्रो. राम पुनियानी से प्रो. मुकेश कुमार की बातचीत- Nowadays the names of streets and cities are being changed saying that they are after the rulers or persons who came from outside.
