But at just 23hp it will struggle in that environment and such a lack of power will be dangerous (discussed here). I hit that hard in POU, using a 1000 mile dirt/asphalt 4 day adventure ride as the backdrop. Rolling up and down non-technical hills, forest trails, riding simple single tracks, cruising dirt roads, and bouncing around the property is more in the wheelhouse of Honda CRF 300 (Rally version shown here!. I'll discuss more applications and then get into a quick run down of this Honda's specifics including its heavy weight for such low power. The is some good stuff and it's represented in this efficient review. The quality and reliability, intuitive rider aids , simple instrumentation, value, resale, approachability for new riders, and great looks are some the Honda's high points. The 300CC (or so) adventure bike market is alive and well and mfrs that have units in the segment are moving them quickly. The Honda CRF 300 is among them, mostly due to the Honda reputation. Riders who don't know any better may love it. But if you're looking for a powerful, smile-inducing, compact power house adventure motorcycle this ain't it. I speak to Honda's continued lack of innovation and what it needs to do to this bike to make it a potential market leader. If you're looking for more power, more fun, better memories, more safety on the interstate, I'd look to the KTM 390 Enduro instead or maybe one of the others discussed in the video. The Honda CRF 300 is undergunned and boring.
