After days of covering thousands of kilometres across India on our epic Bangalore to Ladakh Road Trip, we finally arrived in the beautiful city of Srinagar, Kashmir. Our first stop was checking into the elegant Dewan by Royal Naqash, where we took some time to relax, refresh, and soak in the calm atmosphere after a long drive through Jammu and Kashmir. As the evening approached, we headed towards the iconic Dal Lake, one of the most beautiful and famous destinations in Kashmir. What followed was nothing short of magical. A traditional Shikara ride across the calm waters of Dal Lake gave us a completely different perspective of Srinagar. We explored the fascinating floating market, cruised through narrow water channels lined with houseboats, witnessed everyday life on the lake, and even stopped at a floating restaurant for a unique dining experience. As the sun slowly disappeared behind the majestic Himalayan mountains, the entire lake transformed into a canvas of golden reflections, creating one of the most breathtaking sunsets we’ve ever witnessed. But the surprises didn’t end there. Back at the hotel, we were welcomed by a talented local artist whose soulful Kashmiri music and mesmerising performance created the perfect ending to an unforgettable day in Srinagar.
