"Media vita" (or "Media vita in morte sumus") is originally a Gregorian antiphon that was written in the 9th century by, according to legend, Notker the Stutterer, a monk of the Abbey of St.Gall. This song will become a popular Crusade song, although it will be used in many other contexts.
