A person could be following the salaf in all the foundations, but the moment you disagree with them on their position on a particular Shaykh, they’ll take you out of Salafiyya as if they own it. To justify this they’ll use the statements of the salaf out of context which applied on people who would ally with mu’tazila, jahmiyya, murjia, kullabiyya, khawarij and other groups, they’ll use them against you saying you “praised an innovator.” SPUBS and these other groups are the exactly the same, the only thing that split them was the fitna of Muhammad Ibn Hadi, same hizbi behavior with different branches.
