Gayanacharya Ramkrishna Buwa Vaze: Gayaki and Tradition

This is an audio-visual presentation of the special program on Gayanacharya Pandit Ramkrishna Buwa Vaze. This program was presented by Dr Chaitanya Kunte as 11th episode of Sudarshan Sangeet Sabha, a music activity conducted by Maharashtra Cultural Centre. Pt. Ramkrishna Buwa Vaze was a veteran vocalist of Gwalior Gharana in the last century and to celebrate his 69th death anniversary on 5th May 2012, this program titled as 'Pt. Ramkrishna Buwa Vaze: Gayaki & Parampara' was presented. Vaze Buwa’s great granddaughter-in-law Leenata Vaze along with Dr Kunte gave information on Vaze Buwa’s life and contribution in music. This presentation was supported with audio clips of Vaze Buwa & his disciples such as Shivram Buwa Vaze, Haribhau Ghangrekar, Master Dinanath, Bapurao Pendharkar, Kagalkar Buwa, Gururao Deshpande, Gajananrao Joshi, Mohan Karve, and also Kumar Gandharva, Ram Marathe who were influenced by Vaze Buwa. This presentation was organized on Sunday, 20th May 2012 at Sudarshan RangManch, Shanivar Peth, Pune. This program was highly appreciated by the listeners, along with musicians such as Pt. Mohanrao Karve, Satyasheel Deshpande, Suhas Vyas, Anuradha Kuber, Bharat Kamat and Revati Kamat, Ranjani Ramachandran who were present in the audience.
