Jusan Tohge（Thirteen Pass） is an old mountain pass in Yokosuka. It is the 13th pass on the Uraga Road, and is said to have been so named because of the 13 statues of Buddha enshrined there. (Friday the 13th has nothing to do with it. 13 is not an abhorrent number in Japan.) The road has long been famous for its ruggedness, which can be strenuous for travelers, but it has now been paved and is easily passable.
