Easy Sepia Toning

Today's video looks at easy archival sepia toning with home made thiocarbamide toner. It's a versatile and simple toner with no smell of bad eggs (like the old sepia toners had). We use my 1 and 1/2 teaspoon method of making this toner which simplifies its use. Toner formula 5% Thiourea solution is 1 and 1/2 tsp to 100ml water. To make toner add 28ml per 500ml water. 10% Sodium hydroxide solution is 1 and 1/2 tsp in 100ml water. To make toner add 28ml per 500ml to the above. Bleach formula Potassium ferry 1 and 1/2 tsp per litre add Potassium Bromide 1 and 1/2 tsp per litre to ferry above. John Finch http://www.pictorialplanet.com
