Sureau Noir (Sambucus Nigra) - les Jardins de La Tine - découverte et préparation de sirop

Good morning all, I take you to discover the black elderberry (Sambucus Nigra) and the Hièble elderberry (Sambucus ebulus). The first is partly edible, the second is poisonous. In this video, I'll give you some clues to distinguish the two plants. I will also show you my technique for creating a really good syrup. Here is the recipe: 2 liters of water 1kg of cane sugar 12 large, well-bloomed elderberry umbels 6 organic lemons 1/2 lemon juice Make your syrup by mixing the water and sugar and boiling it. Cut your lemons into slices and in a large glass container, preferably put the slices, the juice and the black elderberry umbels. Pour your syrup over the flowers and the lemon cut into slices. As explained in the video I let my syrup cool to avoid burning my flowers. it's up to you to find the right balance according to your tastes. Leave to macerate for at least 48 hours in the fridge before filtering and placing in sterilized bottles. I left it for more than 3 days ... Tell me if it worked for you and don't hesitate to ask me for more information if needed. Additional note: lemons can be reused in ice cubes, in jam, etc.
