How have Israelis and average Iranians experienced these wars, and how do they share both similar traumas as well as a common hope? Session 2 Restoration of biblical and modern historical ties between Iran and Israel Iranians view themselves as proud modern members of a longtime, Biblical, Persian tradition that goes back to Esther and Mordecai, and King Cyrus who Iranians see as their historic forefather. But they are not familiar with the Bible. Sharing the Biblical stories with Iranians gives them a grounding in a history, and truth, that brings Persians and Jews together since Esther and Mordecai, and King Cyrus enabling the Jews to return to rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem. This is the foundation of a largely respectful and prosperous life of Jews in modern Iran until the Islamic Revolution. How can historic ties be restored? How can relations be rebuilt when Israelis know of only pain and suffering from Iran since 1979? How will Iran being ripe for a message of Chrisitan salvation be the foundation upon which to rebuild the relations going back to the Bible, and until the Revolution?
