Full Face Mask Because You’re a Mouth Breather? Think Again

hink you need a full face CPAP mask just because you’re a mouth breather? Not so fast. A lot of people get put into full face masks because they breathe through their mouth, but in many cases the mouth breathing is actually caused by high pressure, leaks, poor humidity settings, or simply never being taught how to use a nasal mask properly. In this video, I explain why some mouth breathers can successfully switch to a nasal pillow mask, why nasal masks often perform better at lower pressure levels which means more comfort with less side effects. Full face masks absolutely have their place, but they are not always the default answer and they are often over prescribed. Sometimes the goal is not to manage mouth breathing forever. Sometimes the goal is to fix the reason it is happening in the first place. Check out SleepHQ: https://www.sleephq.com
