Siempre Hay un Chileno | Capítulo 1 | Camboya

In this first episode of “There’s Always a Chilean,” the beloved broadcaster traveled to Cambodia, a country known as the vibrant heart of Southeast Asia, with a population exceeding 17 million. In this nation of deep spirituality, Marcelo Kiwi shared three fascinating stories of Chileans who, for various reasons, came to live in this small country. The first featured Matías Bravo, who fell in love with the ancient local martial art, Kun Khmer, providing the show's host with some amusing moments. He also explored the city to learn about typical Cambodian customs, such as eating dried insects. Then, with fellow Chilean Margarita Venegas, he visited Angkor Wat, the largest religious temple on the planet, whose construction took 37 years. He also visited Ta Prohm, the location where the film “Tomb Raider,” starring Angelina Jolie, was filmed. Finally, with Karin López, he visited Phnom Penh, the Cambodian capital, and discovered one of the deepest wounds in the country's history: the school that served as a detention center during Pol Pot's regime.
