Over time, this building was transformed into a completely different attraction. The House of Horrors walkthrough, which provided scares year-round, closed in September 2014 after operating for 7 1/2 years. By April 2015, the entire site (the former Victoria Station complex, including the Hollywood Photoland retail unit) had been demolished. A large mound of earth appeared to make way for a new attraction, The Walking Dead, announced in March 2016." ~ http://www.thestudiotour.com Universal's House of Horrors was an attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood, the fifth iteration of a walk-through maze housed in the "Stage 13" building. Previous themes included Chicken Run, GrinchMas, The Mummy, and Van Helsing: Fortress Dracula. Before becoming an attraction, the "Stage 13" building hosted various restaurants, including Victoria Station and Marvel Mania. The House of Horrors attraction opened in March 2007. This attraction featured live performers dressed as characters from Universal's horror films, such as The Mummy, The Wolfman, Norman Bates from Psycho, Frankenstein, and Nosferatu. Performers would jump out to scare guests as they walked through the film sets, though they did not touch the guests, and guests were not allowed to touch the performers. The walkthrough took about 8 minutes and was not recommended for children under thirteen or those with heart, back, or neck problems, claustrophobia, fear of heights, fear of the dark, or sensitivity to sudden loud noises. On July 26, 2014, Universal Studios Hollywood announced that Universal's House of Horrors would close permanently on September 1, 2014, to make way for an entertainment, retail, and dining complex. On November 25, 2014, Universal's House of Horrors Maze, Hollywood Photoland, and The Blues Brothers R&B Venue were demolished to allow for the expansion of the Universal Studios Store. On March 14, 2016, it was confirmed that the Walking Dead attraction would replace the old House of Horrors maze.
