Kennecott- Alaska’s ABANDONED mining town & Root Glacier Alaska Roadtrip

After visiting McCarthy, we head out to Kennecott Mines. This place is huge! So many buildings and so MUCH bigger in person! And it was all just abandoned! Explore Alaska's ghost town with us. We hike past Kennecott Mine to the Root Glacier. Where I fell 😖 But it was the most beautiful Alaskan scenery we have ever seen! We even found a blue glacier pool! What a day to end our road trip in Alaska! This was our final adventure of our summer in Alaska. We are sad to be leaving but also satisfied with all that we have seen! And it was all out of a dream! A trip of a lifetime. We got to experience some incredible things: -Dalton Highway to the Arctic Ocean -Fairbanks and Chena Hot Springs -We saw DENALI!! and visited Talkeetna -we caught salmon in the Kenai River (after a struggle but we got some!) -we visited the coastal towns of Homer, Seward, and Valdez -we drove McCarthy Rd to McCarthy and visited the abandoned Kennecott Mine and Root Glacier -seeing the midnight sun, a caribou herd of hundreds of caribou, and bears! and walking on glaciers Thanks for joining us on our adventures in Alaska.
