In Chile, there are currently 1,428 camps housing 120,584 families. This number represents the highest figure since 1996, according to the 2024-2025 National Camp Registry conducted by TECHO-Chile. The regions with the highest number of camps are Valparaíso (335), Biobío (228), Antofagasta (154), Metropolitan Area (153), and Atacama (147). According to the 2017 Census, 2.1% of all households in Chile are located in camps. The number of migrant families in camps has increased by almost 20% in the last year. Currently, almost 4 out of 10 families living in camps are migrants.
