Inspired from Father’s Day and reflecting on an old Seiko SQ5 titanium kinetic watch that my dad gave me, I’m taking a break from the normal casio deep dives and activating my enthusiasm through some good old research! This video covers some of the science that sits behind the automatic quartz concept, the first forays of Seiko into this field with AGS and later Kinetic, as well as some of the activity of competitors using Kinetron and ETA movements, as well as s small play from Citizen.
