Staff arguing on the shop floor? More interested in their phones than customers? Really, Selfridges?

🌈 Welcome back to Rolling with Rainbows! In Part Two of my visit to Selfridges London, I continue exploring one of the UK’s most famous department stores from the perspective of a mobility scooter user. This time, I focus on something just as important as accessibility… customer service. Some members of staff were absolutely outstanding. They were friendly, professional and a real credit to Selfridges, and I wanted to make sure they received the recognition they deserve. Unfortunately, I also witnessed behaviour that really surprised me, including members of staff arguing on the shop floor, groups chatting while customers were left waiting, and others appearing more interested in their phones than helping shoppers. This isn’t about criticising individuals—it’s about giving an honest review of my experience so that disabled visitors and other customers know what to expect. As always, I’ll also be looking at accessibility, facilities and whether Selfridges really lives up to its reputation.
