Follow along with First Aid, or with my notes which can be found here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/irs9b9ywx4... Enough about the biochem on sugars! Let's move to lipids. As always, I start with an introduction to lipids, including some terminology as well as the structure of lipids. They are incredibly important and make up a lot of things we need, such as hormones and lipid membranes. Next, we discuss how fatty acids are stored and oxidized (used to make energy). We also discuss the formation of ketone bodies and the importance of that clinically. Lastly, we discuss how we transport lipids, in apolipoproteins. As you can imagine there is important pathology to go along with all these!
