In this episode, I leave our Ford Transit campervan at home and fly to Goulburn, NSW Australia, where I stayed a week at Black Sheep Motel. Within easy reach of Sydney, Goulburn's motto is "country life with a city heartbeat". The town's broad, classic-country-town main street features colonial architecture and great shopping, but beyond, the region exudes country charm and stunning rural landscapes. While in town you can discover its rich history and grand colonial architecture on a self-guided heritage tour, and take a selfie with the Big Merino, which celebrates the region's fine wool industry. You can also visit the Rocky Hill War Memorial and Museum and enjoy panoramic views of the region. GOULBURN HISTORIC WATERWORKS MUSEUM Built 1883-1885, this facility and museum demonstrate the culmination of steam power technology in the late 1800s and the importance of public water utilities in that era. The building is a fine example of the Victorian Georgian style of architecture. It contains a rare steam beam engine made in 1883 by the Appleby Bros. of London. We enjoy part-time van life, creating weekly episodes that are live at 5pm (AEST) Sundays, and sharing our experiences on our travels with our cavoodle, Twyla.
