I Reached India's Last Village Near Pakistan Border | Thang, Turtuk & Khalsar | Ladakh Vlog Day 5
I was standing just 2.2 kilometers from the Pakistan border—and my heart was aching with excitement. This was Day 5 of Ladakh—and it turned out to be the most emotional and historical day of the entire trip. 🗺️What's in this video? ✅ Thang Village — India's Last Village ✅ Just 2.2 km from the Pakistan Border ✅ Experience at the Army Checkpoint ✅ Turtuk's 500-year-old Buddhist Monastery ✅ A story from 1971 that's not found in books ✅ Overnight stay in Khalsar Village ✅ The beginning of the road to Pangong Lake ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🏔️ THANG VILLAGE — India's Last Land To reach Thang, you have to cross an Army checkpoint. We arrived at 8:00 am – entry was after 8:30 am. Even during that wait, there was no regret, because the views were such that time seemed to stop. And when that signboard appeared—"PAKISTAN 2.2 KM"—everything froze for a moment. The sound of the river was coming. Perhaps it didn't know the border. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🕌 TURTUK MONASTERY — A Story of 1971 Turtuk was part of Pakistan before 1971. It came to India after the Indo-Pak War. The monastery here is centuries old. As soon as I entered, I felt like I had time traveled. Golden prayer lamps, thangka paintings, and thousands of years of faith sealed within those stones. This is true travel—when you feel the soul of a place. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🌙 KHALSAR — The night before Pangong We left Turtuk, filled up with petrol from the Discit, and headed towards Khalsar. We were tired—but excited. Because the next day was the biggest chapter of this entire trip. Pangong Lake — just a night away. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 📍 ROUTE: Turtuk → Discit → Khalsar 📏 Distance: ~85 KM ⏱️ Riding Time: ~3.5 Hours ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS 00:26 – Breakfast & Army Checkpoint 02:30 – Arriving at Thang Village (India's Last Village) 03:22 – India-Pakistan Border Viewpoint 04:10 – Pakistan 2.2KM Signboard 05:14 – Centuries-Old Turtuk Monastery 07:33 – Exploring Turtuk (Yul & Phrol) 09:12 – Quick Bite at Jhule House Cafe 09:48 – Fueling Up at Diskit 10:40 – Camping in Khalsar Village 11:57 – Dinner at The Baltistan Cafe ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 📌 LADAKH SERIES PLAYLIST 👇 [Insert your playlist link here] 📸 Instagram: @aryan.ka.safar 🔔 Subscribe: We seek places that aren't on the map but remain in the soul. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ #ThangVillage #LadakhDay5 #IndiaPakistanBorder #TurtukVillage #LadakhRoadTrip #AryanKaSafar #LadakhBikeTrip #LastVillageIndia #TurtukMonastery #KhalsarLadakh #PangongLake #LehLadakh #IndiaTravel #SoloTravel #TravelVlogHindi
