SHEMAGH | LENÇO TÁTICO | COMO USAR | INVICTUS | LADO R
Have you ever heard of the Shemagh? You've probably seen this scarf in movies, TV series (they use it a lot on Netflix's Fauda), or in photos or documentaries about Special Forces around the world. The Shemagh was used by the SAS military since World War II in North Africa, and more recently, the Shemagh was used by the Navy Seals and even by the BOPE (National Guard) in Rio de Janeiro. In Israel, we've heard people call the Shemagh the Keffiyeh, a scarf of Arabic origin that has become popular worldwide. The reason: it's very versatile! There are several ways to use it, from a sling to a hand-woven scarf, and today we'll share and teach you some of its uses. The Shemagh is a piece of cloth, originally made of cotton and woven on handlooms. The ones we're using are from Invictus Tactical Outdoor. Ours were purchased at Thabel, an official Invictus reseller. At Thabel, you'll find many of the items we use here on the channel: they have everything from tactical adventure and leisure gear. It's worth checking out the website. Plus, using our coupon code LADOR, you get 10% off any purchase. Invictus has stayed true to the traditional Shemagh pattern, hand-knitted from 100% cotton, square, measuring 110 cm x 110 cm. Size is very important, as there are several scarves sold as Shemaghs that are much smaller, making them difficult to use. The original Shemagh has one side without fringes and the other with fringes. Invictus made the Shemagh in three different colors: gray, green, and desert, in the Mirage Dune and Mirage Gun prints, which feature various weapons in the Shemagh weave. It's worth investing in a quality Shemagh. We personally have other models that are awful, smaller than this one, and the fabric quality is terrible. If you buy a cheap one, you'll only get angry. In Arab countries, it is traditionally used primarily for thermal comfort. In the desert, the temperature range is very wide: during the day it's very hot and at night the temperature drops abruptly. So, wearing a scarf around your neck, even if damp during the day, helps protect you from the sun and keeps you cooler, and at night, it protects you from the cold. It also protects you from sand, dust, and wind. But there are other very interesting uses for Shemagh: snipers, for example, love Shemagh because it provides excellent camouflage for the weapon, scope, and the shooter's head. Shemagh also serves as a PHC item; obviously, we recommend having the appropriate equipment, but in an emergency, you can use Shemagh as a sling, to immobilize a limb, or even as a bandage to apply compression to a hemorrhage. If you know of any other uses, please leave a comment. You can also improvise a fanny pack to carry items, or a sling backpack. It even serves as fire starter in a survival situation, as it's 100% cotton. Therefore, it's highly recommended that you add this item to your EDC. Check out the video for four ways to use the Shemagh: Bedouin - typically used by Special Forces soldiers who can't show their faces; Bandit - serves both for thermal comfort and to cover the face as a dust mask. We often see this method in apocalypse movies. Pirate - another method used by Special Forces soldiers and is quite versatile. It's useful if you're hiking because it provides good sun protection, and if you need to remove your hood or mask to hydrate or eat something, you can quickly put them back on. Kneck Wrap - serves as neck support if you need to sleep sitting up, it provides comfort. We hope you enjoyed this video and that it helped you learn about this item, which can be very useful for your daily life, in courses, operations, adventures...
