The solution of allowing refrigerant to pass through leads to reduced performance and increased power consumption. Requirements: The lines of a split air conditioner (i.e., separate outdoor and indoor units) must be at least three meters long. Reasons: 1. Avoiding vibrations and noise A certain length of line serves as a buffer to prevent vibrations from the compressor in the outdoor unit from being directly transmitted to the indoor unit. Lines that are too short can cause vibrations and thus noise problems in the interior. 2. Optimal refrigerant circulation The refrigerant must circulate within a specific pressure and temperature range. A line that is too short can disrupt the pressure balance between the evaporator and condenser and impair efficiency or even function. 3. Preventing oil backflow The refrigerant circuit also carries some compressor oil. This oil must be able to flow back to the compressor. If the lines are too short, there is a risk that the oil will not be distributed properly or will flow back, which can lead to compressor damage.
