It was the 3rd best selling vehicle in the country in 2019, and for good reason. The Philippine Innova gets a diesel engine, although gasoline options are also available. It may not have the same looks as the Toyota Fortuner, but Toyota managed to give the Innova a bit more aggressive look. The front end is like a lower Toyota Hilux, but less brutish. The Toyota Innova does not have a direct competitor that's powered by diesel, which makes it the only choice for people who need a strong vehicle to haul heavy loads. The Geely Okavango seeks to challenge the Innova, but the 2021 Geely Okavango is more of a people hauler than something you'll load plywood into. Plus it is also a gasoline engine. The 2021 Toyota Innova may give us more creature comforts inside, and hopefully a reverse camera, since both the Toyota Fortuner and the Toyota Hilux now have reverse cameras. Should you wait for the newer model? If all you need is a basic workhorse and people hauler, the current generation Toyota Innova is decent enough for your needs. The newer model may also see an increase in price, so that is another worthy consideration.
