Album Sunstone Surfboard Review
Ian review the Album Sunstone surfboard: https://www.boardshop.co.uk/brands/al... The Album Sunstone surfboard is the perfect twin fin Fish for every-day surfing and travel too. This board is the Fish that all others should be measured against, epic wave catching and paddling combined with a fine tuned fish performance equals buckets of fun but performance too. The double concave under the back foot combined with substantial vee off the tail give the board a really lively and responsive feel, don't be thinking this is some straight line surfing keel fin fish, it’s got way more to offer than that. Album team player Asher Pacey has this board as the cornerstone of his quiver for good reason, it handles all types of waves from mush burger grovel waves to more solid lined up set ups, the limit depends only on your ability! The volume is packed into the Sunstone in such a clever way, the rails are refined and not chunky, if you put one under your arm you can feel how perfectly balanced the board is. The rocker is fairly flat but not super flat, there is enough lift in the nose to stop the rail catching and enough in the tail to keep the board loose enough to turn. The rail hardens nicely as it moves towards the fins to give the board excellent back foot pivot. These Album boards are works of art, Matt Parker and his team stamp a real authenticity on their boards, they're all hand finished so don't expect factory uniformity in the beautiful resin tints, everyone one is unique. The glassing is 4+4/5oz with a fin patch added too. Fin choice is important as ever, ride with a decent keel set up for everyday waves, if you want to battle more demanding conditions go for a more upright twin set up. The Sunstone, like all boards from Album is proudly built in California, no finishing of the boards takes place anywhere else but Album HQ. Don't forget you can also order a customised version of this surfboard choosing your exact dims, fin set up and fin system, check out our customizer service at Boardshop right now. All you need to do is pump in the details and pay a £100 deposit with the balance due when we send you the board, average build time is 10-12 weeks.
