There is a kind of heart that God is looking for, the one that can host His throne. In the Old Testament, the ark represented the throne of God. God was looking for more than a physical structure to rest, He needed a man after His heart. He found something in Judah, but to complete Judah- David’s lineage, he searched for a Woman with an oathlike heart, a heart bent on the promise, and He found Ruth, not in Israel, but a Moabite. When Ruth chose to remain with Naomi after loss and uncertainty, she was aligning with a divine promise. Her words echoed God’s mind from the beginning; “Your people shall be my people, and your God, my God”. Ruth did not just follow Naomi, she was pursuing God. This pursuit grafted her into a divine lineage. She became part of the story that would bring forth David, and ultimately, Christ. Her faith, her loyalty, and willingness to say ‘Yes’ to God became a seed that was engrafted into generations. Dear Woman, this is your call.
